Abraham Palatnik

Abraham Palatnik, born in 1928 in Brazil, was a pioneering artist known for his significant contributions to kinetic art. After studying at the National School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, he developed a distinctive style influenced by Constructivist and Concrete art movements. In the late 1950s, Palatnik pioneered kinetic art, using mechanical and electronic elements to create dynamic, moving artworks. His "Cinechromatic Devices" in the 1960s showcased colorful, abstract compositions that changed with internal mechanisms, offering viewers an interactive visual experience. Palatnik later ventured into computer art in the 1970s, exploring algorithmic and generative artworks. He exhibited internationally, leaving a lasting legacy as a visionary artist who bridged art and technology. Palatnik passed away in 2020, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy that continues to inspire contemporary art.
