About this item

This beautiful piece of Mid-century furniture is called the “Diabolo” lounge chair. A highly rare and exclusive lounge chair made by Stabin Bennis The Netherlands and designed by Dutch designer Ben Swildens in the 1960’s.

The name diabolo is derived from its shape. With its two cups that form an hourglass, the lounge chair has the same shape as the juggling object called diabolo. These fiberglass cups are the core of a comfortable but yet very modern looking lounge chair. The lower cup functions as a base and the upper cup as a comfortable seating area.

The chair is completely restored. The upper cup and the cushion are newly upholstered with genuine black leather and foam and the fiberglass base is professionally spray-painted with a white paint. The lounge chair is like new.
