Large set of oak lounge chairs and one ottoman by by Bernt Petersen for Schiang Furniture. Made and designed in Denmark in 1965.

Not often we find a set of Mid-century Danish design lounge chairs in this quantity. The "Rag" chair by Bernt Petersen is not easy to find, but in a set of six with an ottoman is highly rare. Because of the quantity, the chairs are perfectly suitable for a hotel, large living room, garden or even at your swimming pool. We re-upholstered all the chairs and the ottoman with an outdoor fabric and new cushions, so they can be placed outdoors if you like.

We have a set of six chairs and one ottoman available. The chairs can be placed separately, but also combined as a sofa. They consist of oak frames with a canvas "rag" and three cushions. The brown piece of canvas on the head cushion holds the head cushion at its place. In good condition with new outdoor upholstery and cushions. Marked "Danish control"

Bernt Petersen worked for the famous Danish Mid-century designer Hans Wegner before opening his own studio in 1963. The styles of Wegner can be recognized in his work. Just like Wegner his work for Getama, Bernt used straight lines and beautiful oak wood in his designs. You could think his "Rag" chair to be a piece of work by Wegner himself, if you don't know Petersen.
