About this item

This table is called the "Cirkante". A word found by its designers Dries en Bob Vanden Berghe. Cirkante is a mix of the Dutch words "cirkel" which means "circle" and "vierkant" which means "square". It is easy to see why the Vanden Berghes came up with this well thought out name. The table is in its original form a square, but can be unfolded to a shape that is neither a square or circle. Not is not even a hexagon. It is a Cirkante :-)

When unfolded, the table transforms in a big table. Great for a family or a meeting table in a office. Because of it can be folded, it is a perfect table to place in a smaller room. To support the folded table leaf, you can extend a wooden bar under the table.

The table is made of varnished Beech wood with a square granite tile in the middle. The top rests on a black wooden base. Our example is an early production by the Danish design company Tranekaer and is in good condition. A small damaged spot underneath the table.

Unfolded the table measures 198 x 198 cm, and offers space for around 12 people. Folded there is space for around 8 people.
