High Back Dining Chairs by Alain Delon in Gold, France 1980s

High-end gold plated metal high back dining chairs by Alain Delon. Made and designed in France in the 1980's.

A set of six dining chairs made of gold plated metal and fabric. The chairs have fantastic geometric shapes and look classic and yet very modern.

We received this dining set from the first owner who bought it new at Roche Bobois in the first half of the 1980s. The former owner told us he bought it as a set of Alain Delon dining chairs. We examined other designs by Alain Delon and are convinced by his story. The chairs have the same geometric shapes like the backgammon table by Alian Delon. And the base and back of the chair looks very similar to his other dining chairs.

The dining chairs are in good condition. They still have their original fabric which is in good condition. The gold plated metal of the dining chairs have some traces of use. In some places the gold has a bit faded. Mainly at the top.

This is an unique, hard to get set of dining chairs from the 80s by one of the most famous Europeans of the mid-century.

Alain Delon is a French actor born in 1935. He is one of the most regonized actors of Europe and played in many classic movies. He was also a business man and designer. He designed furniture for Maison Jansen and Sabot. Some of his most famous items are his white sideboard, game table and dining chair and table for Maison Jansen. All with the looks of Hollywood Recency.
